Canvas Assessment: I think that I will start slowly transitioning from Utips to Canvas assessments. But, that is not necessarily because I like Canvas so much, but because Utips is no longer going to be serviced. Since I do not have a lab in my classroom or an iPad lab my students had to go to another part of the building to have access to Canvas. I had to make sure they all knew how to log into Canvas and then they had to log in to the User ID. Once in Canvas I think students enjoyed taking the test online; however, I think they felt that it was a long process to go through just for a quiz. In hindsight I should have just had them take the quiz at home, but I was nervous that I would need to troubleshoot problems that came up. I have realized that students for the most part are much more tech savvy that I even though before. They liked the instant feedback and it allowed for us to have a discussion about the correct answers on the quiz. |
Skyward Assessment: I did not enjoy the Skyward assessment program as much as Utips and Canvas. I am glad that I had a chance to utilize the program though. I can see why some teachers would like it because it will auto record scores; however, I don't like the format and the creation process as much. I think that if we are moving toward Canvas I will start uploading tests and quizzes in that format rather than Skyward. |
