Thematic Unit Presentation II
I was really impressed with how many of the teachers who presented today really tried their hand at technology. Several teachers created Prezis for the first time. Also, I really enjoyed Sarah presentation because it was Flipped!
One of the things that I really enjoyed about today was our break out sessions. I went to a presentation on Evernote and Splice. These are some ways that I hope to implement both of these programs into my teaching:

Evernote I have never really liked Notes on my iPad so finding Evernote was really great. I liked the functionality of it and the way that it can be organized. I also like the other applications like Skitch and Trunk, which are used within Evernote. My brain is full of ideas on how to use this not only in my personal life, but with my students. I have been toying with how to incorporate Weebly into my AP European History class next year, but as I have talked with Sarah I think that I might over Evernote as an option as well. It is a great way for students to organize their notes, terms, review questions, etc and to email them to me. | Splice This is a great way to make simple videos to present to my students or for students to make. I feel like I just barely hit the tip of the iceberg for this program, but I was introduced to some great resources like Indicommons and LOCPix, which will be helpful as I try to make these videos. I am excited to explore this application in more detail. |
