Tonight's class focused mostly on the benefits of Skype and Google Docs. I use Skype regularly as a professional and as part of the Face to Faith course. My students have benefited immensely from this program as they have been able to connect with peers across the globe to discuss how topics like wealth, the environment, malaria, human rights, charity, etc are influenced by not only religion, but values and beliefs of a community and school.
We also talked more about Google Docs and how to collaborate these this program. Since I was not able to attend class I had to create a collaborative assignment using Google Docs with a colleague. I decided to collaborate with Karen Larson. We are both mentor teachers at Brighton and have been trying to think of a way to make our resources and communication more effective and far reaching. I suggested that we create a Weebly so that our new teachers have digital access to all of our information, resources, and handouts. We both got very excited about this idea. I then suggested that we create some of the documents using a shared Google Folder so that we both could add to the document
